Oh Naked Tree, Oh Naked Tree . . .

Stop the obscenity now!

Deck the halls!

Schmück that Baum, ASAP!

As you can see in the picture to the left, Patty and I (and soon Maria, too!) have this lovely, tilted Christmas tree, which is horribly naked! We're thinking that Sunday will be tree-decorating day, but until then, we'll be forced to continue lowering our gaze as we pass the unabashed naked tree.

On the agenda for the tree are some orange slices, small round ornaments, and possibly some cinnamon sticks. Any other suggestions? I'm also thinking that taking down that bulletin board in the background might be appropriate. While I'm at it, I guess I could move the kitchen timer and throw out that old cilantro . . . this is turning out to be a boat-load of work, jeeze.

PS My blog is currently featuring Christmas colors. Sorry all you Hanukkah and Kwanza folks.

dude, make some mini g-bread peeps and hang em on the tree. thats what i always do! how about some strings of popcorn? or glue pictures in jar lids and they will magically be transformed into ornaments. poooooof. my tree has only one decoration: a solitary candy cane. it was all that would fit!

skhl! You're required to ask my mom to go drink mojitos with you in Milwaukee! And no, I'm not coming home for Christmas.

Claire dear, I just wanted to tell you about something great that kaitlin, my sister and I did with cheese this weekend. We made a big rectangle of crescent roll dough, put a wheel of brie on it and then here comes the exciting part: covered the brie in spicy pepper jelly! (have you heard of such a thing it is great), wrapped up the jelly-covered brie with the dough and baked it in the oven. I know this is nothing innovative but I know you enjoy cheese and I considered this part of my research for the book and I miss you.
